Going to the Newcastle match! (in the posh seats) :-D

We had a fantastic day today after Daddy got us tickets from his friend at work to the Newcastle match! Lori wasn't keen on going so Grandad took her place, and although Mummy and I weren't really sure what to expect - we're not really football fans - strangely we were really excited. And as soon as we arrived and saw all the fans walking round we started to feel the football match atmosphere. And it was a lovely, warm, sunny day!

After parking the car, we arrived into the main entrance and headed up the stairs. "This is really special" I remember thinking, and after showing our tickets to the man we walked through to the Heroes Lounge to our table! Wow - this was insane! So cool!

As we we were enjoying some of the lovely food they served we were entertained by former player Shola Ameobi (who was a lovely man) who talked about his time playing for Newcastle, and what it meant to him. Daddy and Grandad posed for a photo with him, and Daddy got our programmes signed! Ace!

Daddy & Grandad with Shola!

It was soon time to head to our seats for the match, in the Director's Box(!) and what a fantastic view! The teams were out and sun was shining, COME ON NEWCASTLE!!

Everything about the day exceeded my expectations, not least watching the match, but I can see now why people find it so exciting! It helped that we had great seats - Grandad and Daddy kept pointing out former Newcastle players they could see sitting near to us - and I saw Jade from Little Mix sitting just a few rows in front of me!! She's a big Newcastle fan!

Newcastle taking a free-kick - Managing Director Lee Charnley just below us, pointing at something!

It wasn't long before Newcastle scored the first goal courtesy of Ayoze Perez - it was great to see everyone jumping up and cheering, and the sound of everyone shouting was so loud: it was brilliant!! Newcastle scored again a few minutes later and Daddy explained it was Perez again who scored - he's from Tenerife, where we've been on holiday! (Ayoze Perez, not Daddy - haha)

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to stand on the Newcastle sign on the carpet!

Miguel Almiron injured :-(

Grandad looking like a concerned football manager! Haha

Enjoying post-match drinks, with Rafa Benitez on the TV in the background

Enjoying the pictures of the great old players who played for Newcastle!

And a couple of great photos of us all after the game had finished!

After half time, Southampton scored the next goal which at least pleased the little section of Southampton fans high up in the corner next to the big screen. But then just a few minutes before the end of the game, Perez scored again! His third goal of the day sealed a lovely 3-1 win for Newcastle and put the cherry on top of a perfect day!

I really loved going to the football and I think I would really like to go again if Daddy will take me!

HOWAY THE LADS!!! xx
