New Year's Eve: good bye 2015 & hello 2016!

It's New Year's Eve and Lori and I are starting to get excited for the celebrations! Daddy arrived home from work in the afternoon and so we quickly got ready and headed out on the Metro to Newcastle to see the New Year's Eve parade: Wild Beasts & Dark Streets!

It was fantastic! We stood amongst the crowds that lined Northumberland Street waiting for the parade to start, and when it did it was well worth the wait. There was a precession of models and characters slowly making their way along the street as everyone clapped and cheered. A cauldron of spitting fire, followed by wire & paper models of various creatures punctuated by groups of local children dressed in various costumes. Once the last creature passed we made our way up past the library to John Dobson Street where we waited for the fireworks to start!

We didn't have to wait long; dead on 6 o'clock, and right from the first sparkly rocket, the Newcastle night sky was lit up in a majestic pyrotechnic display! It really was the best fireworks display I've ever seen and there were plenty of smiling faces all around gazing up at the show!

Once the fireworks finished we were off back to the Metro to get our train home and settle down for the night, waiting for 12 o'clock! We had some tea, watched the TFI Friday New Year's Eve special, before daddy flicked over to Jools Holland as the hour approached.

Bang on midnight we watched further celebration on Sky News as London ushered in 2016 in style with what certainly was a rivalling fireworks display! Daddy poured us all a small glass of champagne (thanks Auntie Sue!) as we all wished each other a Happy New Year, but it wasn't long before my eyes closed on another great year! It was a long day but a very memorable one!

Happy New Year everyone! x

Baby Nina's 1st birthday!

It was a lovely surprise that Nanna, Uncle Mark, Catherine and baby Nina came round to continue the celebrations of Nina's 1st birthday! Nina loved her presents and I had great fun playing with her with her new toys! She also loved the candles on her birthday cake, although I had to give her a little help in blowing them out! Happy Birthday Nina! x

Boxing Day at Nanna's!

Daddy and I walked round to nanny's on Boxing Day night to catch up with Auntie Kirsty, Nanna and Andrew after the festivities of Christmas Day.

We have a lovely time, playing Don't Take Buster's Bones and watching a bit of telly! Shame it was raining though - we were soaked right through when we got there!

Santa's been!!!!!

We could barely sleep all night but daren't get up in case we saw Santa! But, as the clock struck 6am we bundled into mummy & daddy's room to wake them up so we could go and see if Santa had been...

We crept, excitedly down the stairs and carefully opened the living room door and to our delight HE'D BEEN!!! He'd left two lovely piles of presents for Lori and me at either end of the sofa as well as some smaller presents in our stockings which were hanging on the fireplace. He'd also taken a small sip of his whisky and a bit of his mince pie, and Rudolph had had a huge bite of out his carrot!

With big smiling faces we opened our presents as daddy put some Christmas music on, and we got lots of great gifts! Amongst Lori's presents were a magnificent set of bath bombs, a selfie printer, a polaroid camera, lots of new pens, and a new Wii controller while Santa brought me lots of dollies, make up, a nail kit, lots of Playdoh and much much more! One of my favourites was a new game called "Don't Take Buster's Bones"! A fab game where you've got to carefully take Buster the dog's bones without waking him up!

Then mummy asked us to check something in the dining room. We wandered in, wondering what she could be talking about and to our delight we found Santa had also left us a new trampoline! It was in its box still so daddy has to build it but we can't wait until the weather's better so we can bounce around on it in the garden!

Grandad, Jen and Jay popped round later in the morning and had brought us even more presents! We we've been a lucky pair of girls this year for sure! Later it was off to Nanna's for Christmas dinner, and to see Nanna, Uncle Mark and Catherine with baby Nina and Auntie Kirsty! We all swapped presents and had a great time before sitting down to enjoy a lovely Christmas Dinner, meanwhile Mickey and Uncle Mark's dog Tia chased each other round the house! I couldn't wait to play "Don't Take Buster's Bones" with Lori & Auntie Kirsty but I didn't expect it to be this scary!

Later we got an Uber taxi over to see Auntie Jen, Uncle Gary, and cousins Jay & Amy! We had lots more fun there - especially Daddy who was playing FIFA with Jay on the Playstation! And Mickey had more fun too, this time playing with their dog Ted and chasing him round the house! The dogs were worn out by the end of the night!

We got another car home later in the night but by that time all the excitement had overwhelmed me to the point where I was fast asleep. We had such a lovely Christmas Day and we feel so lucky to have been given so many lovely presents, and spent such a great time with all our lovely family! Santa was really good to us again this year, and we love all our presents from everyone!

I hope you all had as lovely a Christmas as we all did! Merry Christmas xx

It's Christmas Eve!!!!!!

Lori and I are getting mega excited now! It's Christmas Eve and Santa Claus is coming to town!! Mummy was getting the house all tidy ready for Santa, and once Daddy got home from work we really started to feel properly Christmassy! Lori and I had opened the last door on our advent calendars, and as it started to get dark we settled down to watch some Christmas films. Daddy took us outside in the hope we could see Santa fly past and I'm sure I saw him! He was on his way!

The presents for all our family were safely nestled under the tree and as you can see, we were really starting to tingle. We sprinkled reindeer dust on the front drive so Rudolph and his pals could find their way, and before we settled down to watch "The Grinch that Stole Christmas" we set out a glass of whisky and a mince pie for Santa, and a carrot for the reindeer. Not forgetting of course Santa's magic key!

It wasn't long before it was time for bed and as we excitedly climbed the stairs in our Christmas pyjamas we shut our eyes, dreaming that Santa would be stopping at our house! x

Going to see Santa!!

Today we went with Nanna to Heighley Gate to see Santaaaa!! It was so exciting to arrive to see snow on the ground and all of Santa's decorations looking lovely. All the nativity animals were there to greet me and Santa had even left a letter for me to collect! Before I knew it I was approaching Santa's grotto and got to spend a few minutes with the big man. He asked me what I wanted for Christmas but rather than go into specifics I said I would just like some surprises. Starting to get really excited for Christmas now! x
