The day the Eleanor came to tea!

A quiet Saturday loomed so we all jumped in the car and took a trip to Seven Stories in Newcastle! It's one of my favourite places to go; they have lots of books and on each floor there's always a fantastic exhibition featuring a famous children's author. The currently featured author is Judith Kerr, author of one of my favourite books, "The tiger who came to tea".

Here's me having a lovely spot of tea with the tiger (and making sure he didn't eat everything like he did in the book)!

If you're curious about Seven Stories you should check it out and support this wonderful resource we have right on our doorstep. Click below for more details!

Thunder storm!!

Tonight there was a brilliant thunder storm in Whitley Bay! Daddy and I stood outside near the door watching the sky for exciting flashes and rumbles. It was really exciting but a bit scary at the same time, but it made me think; what's this thunder lark really all about??

Special nursery award, from the head teacher of the big school!

Luckily I had prepared a speech:

"It's with great pleasure that I accept this award for fantastic writing of my name. The nursery staff, right through from the girls at Zone4Kids at Whitley Lodge, right through to the folks here at Stephenson, have been immense. I'd like to also thank my big sister Lori, and Mummy and Daddy for all their hard work teaching me how to do this... I'd like to, but it was all me really!"

Seriously though, a really proud moment.

Scarecrow update

AJ made it to nursery okay and was quickly joined by lots of his friends. They came in all sorts of different colours and sizes, and with lots of different outfits. It really was quite a sight to see them all guarding the school from, well, crows I guess.

Making a scarecrow!

Tonight was the night we got to make my scarecrow for nursery! Mummy picked up some straw on the way home, and using some old clothes and some bamboo sticks, and got to work! It was hard work but great fun to do. Once I'd drawn some eyes, nose and a mouth on his face and Daddy glued some straw 'hair' on the head he was all set.

Everyone, meet AJ!

Filling in my nursery diary

My new nursery gave me a diary book to fill in and I felt it was high time we brought it up to date. So, Daddy, Mummy and I stuck in some pictures of some fun things, and then I did some colouring in. We have to build a scarecrow this week so I was colouring in a potential design. Can't wait to get building it, but it got too late so it'll have to wait until another night.

Princess dancing lessons!

Today was my first day of lessons at my new princess dancing class! It was great, everyone was dressed as a princess and we danced to princess music. There were lots of other princesses there too, and I think I will make some new friends soon. Daddy and Mummy had to wait in the next room but I could see them sometimes as we danced past the door. I know who was having the best time :)

There's me, on the right in the pink dress.

Famous Eleanor gets new job!

I was delighted to learn today that someone else called Eleanor got a really important job today. MP for Epping Forest, Eleanor Laing became the new Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons!

(Can someone explain to me what this all means please? I'm only 3...)

Running round the Peppa Pig book

It was almost bed time but there was just time for a quick run around the musical Peppa Pig book. The idea was to keep running whilst the music played and then stop when the music stopped. Good fun, if a little childish!

Helping Daddy after a hard day at nursery

I wasn't home five minutes when I was straight back to doing important jobs. Daddy was finishing putting new wood boards around the grass and I wanted to give him a bit of a break. The wheelbarrow looked interesting...

Enjoying the new patio with Lori!

Daddy had pretty much finished laying all the paving for the new patio and since it was a lovely evening, Lori and thought we'd have a bit of a run around and enjoy the place!
