London Weekend!

Daddy had some holidays at work so we planned a trip to see Auntie Sue & Lucas in Windsor, and to take in the sights of Windsor & London.

Once we arrived on the train we jumped straight in a cab to head to the London Palladium to see Joseph! Sue had kindly laid on tickets for us and it was a stunning show! The dances and the music were ace, the stage was set perfectly, and Sheridan Smith was in it which was cool. I like her as Rudi in Gavin & Stacey!

The next day Sue had also picked up tickets for Legoland. Sue had to work today so we took a cab over there and it was as fab as we'd hoped! The weather was ace and it seemed we walked the entire site, jumping on rides where the queue wasn't outrageous. We also enjoyed the Star Wars Lego experience that they'd opened, and of course, when we took a break we couldn't not get some Lego chips from the cafe :-)

The next day we headed in to London with Auntie Sue to the Tower of London - our Auntie Christine  (who works at the Tower) had laid on some tickets for us which was so lovely. Not only that but she had also arranged a special private tour with Beefeater Scott (great guy)! Sensational stuff - we got to see some places that are off-limits to everyone else, including seeing an ancient mural they'd uncovered in the Bell Tower, a look inside the Queen's House, and a visit to the resting place of St Thomas More, amongst other historic figures. Before Scott had to leave us to our own thing, he popped us at the front of the queue to see the Crown Jewels! Really interesting so thanks to Auntie Sue & Auntie Christine for a great day!

Later we took the tube over to Knightsbridge for a quick look around Harrods! Daddy bought some coffee for Auntie Sue and some tea bags for home. It's quite pricey in there - haha! Interesting to see - bit like Fenwick's but a lot posher is how I'd describe it!

On the last day Auntie Sue drove us into London to see some final sights - we went to Abbey Road to trace the steps The Beatles took for their 1969 album, Abbey Road! We also say TWO Doctor Whos!! David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker were there, they emerged from Abbey Road recording studios, crossed the crossing, came back and went back in to the studio. We found out later they were doing something for Children in Need! So many thanks to Auntie Sue for being so patient, standing in the middle of the road waiting to take our picture! Absolutely legend x

We also just had time to nip across to Savile Row in London, to no.3 which was where The Beatles made their last ever public appearance - on the roof of the building!

Finally, we just had time to stop off at Baker Street to see the flat which once belonged to a rather famous detective! Lori's a big fan of Sherlock so this was exciting for Lori!

All in all a fantastic trip to see Auntie Sue, and to do some exploring! x
