Christmas market, Santa & Fenwick's window!

I can safely say it's starting to feel like Christmas and to get us in the mood we all jumped on the Metro for a day out in Newcastle. We arrived at Monument and as we climbed the steps up to street level we emerged into the middle of the Christmas market! We were surrounded by lots of food stands selling food from all over the world. Aces! We found somewhere to sit and whilst I enjoyed some sushi, Lori tucked in to a Polish meat & potato dish. Meanwhile mummy & daddy were sharing a Moroccan chicken & lamb dish. Fantastic scenes.

Here we are on our way to the Metro!

As we were leaving the market we noticed, tucked away deep inside the Dutch pop-up garden centre was Santa's grotto! I couldn't wait to see him - he asked if I'd been good this year (of course I have!) and then asked what I would like Santa to bring me. I'd like anything to do with Frozen, I think I said! We posed for pictures, shook hands and left Santa to see the next lucky child. He was having a busy day!

After dropping a few coins in for the mime artist, we headed for Fenwick's window on Northumberland Street which is always something to behold at Christmas time. The displays they put on every year always take our breath away and this year's didn't disappoint. The whole shop front playing out various scenes from Alice in Wonderland! Truly magical!

We headed into Eldon Square to have a look at all the weird and wonderful smellies on sale in Lush. Lori and I had a great time smelling all the products and even having a go with some bath bombs they let us test out. All the staff there were really helpful and we picked up a few products to try ourselves, when daddy gets round to fixing the bath tap that is... On the way back I was delighted to see a Frozen picture in Eldon Square!

There was just time for a bubble tea and a rest whilst mummy picked up some things from Boots - it was a busy day, my legs were really tired and we were glad for the opportunity to have a little rest on the train home. Great day!

Seven Stories Sunday

Not wanting to waste the weekend we headed into town to one of my favourite haunts, Seven Stories. We headed to the craft making area first of all to make snowmen before heading to the attic where we saw a story telling performance. It was a woman (who looked a bit like Nessa from Gavin & Stacey) dressed as Little Red Riding Hood! But, today she wanted to create her own story so she enlisted volunteers from the audience for help. I kept putting my hand up with various suggestions for how the story should take shape. All great fun!

Laughing at me laughing at me...

We were reviewing some old posts this morning and I found this one of me laughing at a 2012 video of me hitting daddy with a book particularly amusing. I suppose I've created sort of a Droste effect (where a photo appears within itself) only with video.

Laid down another Frozen track

During this evening's recording session, we recorded another track from Frozen - this time, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?". With brief guest vocals from Elsa herself!

Hard day's night in the studio

Had a tough day in the studio today; recording a few tracks, listening to some overdubs, that sort of thing. I couldn't wait to pay my own tribute to my favourite film and I hope you enjoy it. It's sort of a 'behind the scenes' style music video, and all done in one take!

Hey guys! Check out my latest podcast.

I love watching make-up tutorials on YouTube so I thought I'd have a bash at making my own. Hope it provides some useful tips for next time you want to cake your own face in Boots' finest! Enjoy x

Reading and writing update

My reading & writing skills are improving all the time and yesterday I got my first official reading books from school! I read them both about six times last night!

Bonfire night!

It was Excitement Central at our house tonight as Daddy revealed he's bought some fireworks so we could have them in our own back garden! They weren't as good as the ones we saw on Sunday but Daddy tried his best.

Later I took the opportunity to share some thoughts on all this Guy Fawkes & poppy business that's going around at the moment.

Remember, Remember, the 2nd of November?

It was a little early for actual Guy Fawkes night but the council put on another cracker of a fireworks show for everyone! We arrived nice and early to get a good view and once the first fireworks whooshed into the air the professional display didn't disappoint!
