Charles & Alice were in the area and they dropped by to have a chat and a cup of tea in the garden. It was lovely to see them but such a shame we have to distance, and that it ended up raining...
Once upon a time, in the year two thousand and ten and on the twenty fourth day of the third month, a little girl was born at 12:31pm in Newcastle. She was named Eleanor Frances Jameson and all her family smiled. This is her tale...

To Cresswell beach!
We fancied the beach but with the weather being so nice we didn't want to risk going to a busy beach. So we headed further north with memories of Northumberland's beaches being vast, undiscovered swathes of sand & dunes... and Cresswell didn't disappoint. There were visitors to the area, as we were, but plenty of space not to be bothered. We set up our spot on the beach and I went straight in the sea!

Holywell Dene
It's so close to home we were puzzling as to why we hadn't been exploring here before. I guess you just don't bother so much with the things closer to home. Well we wanted to change that and so we headed along the wiry Hartley Lane and parked up. The Dene is stunning; featuring vast valleys filled with trees, rocks, nature and other features, with split walking levels and the Seaton Burn babbling through on its way to neighbouring Seaton Sluice. Anyway, we brought Slinky with us for today's adventure!
Old bridge abutment left behind from the abandoned 1913 railway line to Collywell Bay.
(never used because WW1 started, so they had to spend war effort elsewhere)
Mummy tentatively crossing the Seaton Burn.

Day trip to Plessey Woods!
We jumped in the car for a change of scene and headed north to Plessey Woods, in south Northumberland. We brought Buddy with us as we felt he needed a bit of time away from the other two doggies - he had a great time, although I think he was getting a bit too hot by the end of the walk. Plessey Woods is lovely, there were other people there but not too many and it was easy to stay distanced from others. Great day out!

Uncle Andrew's birthday!
We were excited for Uncle Andrew's birthday and, even though we're getting used to not seeing people, we missed him and Auntie Suzie. They were having nice birthday celebrations in Mobberley, but still it will be nice when we can see them again. Anyway, we did a Zoom chat which was nice!
